About Home Stretch

Home Stretch is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that seeks to empower tomorrow's leaders with passionate, hands-on, life-altering mentorship. This program provides a strong form of stewardship into a life of pride, opportunity, and happiness for the young adults who truly need it in, and the best part is that they're the young adults right in your town. This charter is a pilot program, and is based out of Washington County, Indiana.

About the program

Home Stretch is a program designed to function as a personally tailored, well-rounded preparatory catalyst that helps pave a smooth transition into a successful adult life for the at-risk young adults of our county. The core concept of the program is pairing at-risk young adults with a host family (read more about this here). The target outreach audience are community members aged 18 and up that are still currently enrolled in high school and don't have a safe place to call home. The host families will provide a sense of family and stability, and aid in the process of developing appropriate, individualized life skills for the program's participants. The participant will be able to stay with the family through graduation and for up to three (3) months afterwards. The learning and growth goals for program participants are based on the Casey Life Skills Assessment, ensuring that each participant is comfortably prepared and well-informed as they enter into adulthood.
